Volunteer or Donate

Alaska VA depends on the goodwill of our benefactors and volunteers who wish to give something back to America's heroes.

Volunteers provide many important functions throughout the VA Clinic and help make our patients' visit more enjoyable. Volunteers can perform a number of services, and a volunteer's talents are closely matched with one of our assignments.

To volunteer, call or visit the Alaska VA Voluntary Service Office. We will be happy to receive your application or discuss how you can help us in our mission to provide comfort and care to America's veterans.

Cash donations are used for the comfort and welfare of our veterans  including —

  • veteran comfort bags (patients leaving state for specialty care)
  • veterans' coffee program
  • veteran rehab special events
  • women veteran services
  • OEF/OIF veteran services
  • homeless veterans program
  • veteran support services (vet centers)

Non-cash contributions are used to provide services to veterans.  Items which are accepted include —

  • magazines/books
  • coffee and wrapped snacks
  • new or gently used clothing
  • prepaid telephone cards

To make a cash or non-cash contribution, please contact the Alaska VA Voluntary Service.
